Matrimonial Services
We understand how stressful and difficult family problems can be for all those involved.
dgb has a wide experience of dealing with matrimonial
matters, such as separation and divorce, ownership of property and other assets, and maintenance and child support, acting
for husbands, wives, grandparents or cohabitees.
Divorce/Separation
dgb will provide you with sympathetic advice and practical guidance, always taking into account the welfare of any children
involved.
We will help you examine all the options, including counseling and mediation. Where recourse to the
courts is necessary or inevitable, we will explain the procedures and remedies available to you, whether you are considering
separation or divorce.
Financial Issues
If you are considering living together, it’s wise to agree on certain arrangements before setting up home, such as ownership
of property, how to share income and what might happen in the event of death.
Should your relationship break
down, you will usually have to sort out the division of property, savings and other assets. It’s often possible to negotiate
a sensible and reasonable agreement so that attendance at court is not necessary.
If you cannot reach an agreement,
you will be advised and assisted throughout the drafting of necessary documents and represented at court by one of
our experienced advocates or counsel.
Welfare of Children
Where children are involved, we always aim to encourage fair and amicable legal resolutions to issues such as where
the children are to live (residence), access to them by the other partner (contact), and the financial support available.
This includes representation for married or unmarried parents and grandparents.
If you would like to make an appointment please contact us to arrange a fixed rate interview at our Chatham office or fill in our Online Enquiry Form upon receipt of which we will contact you.
